We spoke with Mimmo’s Pizza’s owner and founder, Blake Schirripa about how the partnership formed and how the partnership has affected Mimmo’s Pizza. Why do you think blood donation is important?
I think blood donations are important to me because safe blood can save people’s lives and if you have a certain type of blood, you are lucky enough to save multiple lives! That to me is what makes it important!
How did your partnership with South Bend Medical Foundation start?
My partnership with the South Bend Medical Foundation started by us technically being neighbors to each other on the Edison Road branch. Having the recruitment department coming to offer to be partners together since our locations are close to each other.
Who do you work with at SBMF?
The person that I work with for the SBMF blood drive is Mary Ankrapp. She has been amazing to work with over the years! Keep up the great job!
How does your partnership work?
Our partnership works with the SBMF that when they hold certain event dates to donate throughout the year you can come in to donate your blood and you will be rewarded with a $15.00 gift certificate to Mimmo’s Pizza!
How does it feel to be helping SBMF provide services to the community?
I feel very privileged in my position in my life to help out the SBMF raising blood donations to help save people’s lives! To me that’s priceless!
How has your partnership with SBMF affected Mimmo’s Pizza?
The South Bend Medical Foundation has definitely affected my business a lot by letting a lot of people know or who don’t know about my pizza place to come try it out! There’s a reason I like to say it’s the Best in the State! So why not treat the special people who donate their blood to try some of the best Pizza in their life! I’m grateful to have a great relationship with SBMF and I appreciate everything that they do for Mimmo’s Pizza!
